Elizabeth A. Caple, 81, of Anderson Hill, Candor, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 1965 at Riverview Rest Home, Owego, New York, following a long illness. She was the widow of Clarence Caple.

Born in Candor, September 30, 1884, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Ann Kyle Barnes. Mrs. Caple was a member of the Anderson Hill Methodist Church and of Flemingville Grange from which she had received her 50-year membership pin.

She is survived by three sons; Hugh and Clarence Caple of Candor and Earl Caple of Cortland; four daughters: Mrs. Mildred Oltz of Willseyville, Mrs. Marian Andrews of Owego, Mrs. Ruth Tholen of Candor, and Mrs. Pearl Compton of Moravia; 21 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 1965, at the Allen Funeral Home, Candor. Rev. Urban F. Cline, pastor of Allen Memorial Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Catatonk Cemetery, Catatonk. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday afternoon 2:00 to 4:00 and evening 7:00 to 9:00.
