After a time, Joe and his family moved to Oklahoma to pursue oil fields. Camp life was not for Rosie so she packed up her family and moved back to West Virginia. After their divorce, Joe married again.
Joe married second Gladys Sherman. They were living in Texas and together they had two sons. Joe again moved his family to Oklahoma. The marriage to Gladys ended in divorce.
Joe was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, joining at Hamlin Lodge #160 on August 6, 1910.
Joe spent the remainder of his life in Oklahoma, passing away on July 4, 1972.
