Rachel Tedder Ross 88, of Mount Gilead, died Wednesday morning, January 19, 2011 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM, Sunday, January 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Mount Gilead. Rev. Zach Dawes will officiate and interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. When not at the funeral home the family will welcome friends at 102 Scarboro Street, Mount Gilead.
Mrs. Ross was born October 25, 1922 in Montgomery County. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Pierce and Mattie Warner Tedder.
She was a retiree of United Mills and a member of First Baptist Church, Mount Gilead.
Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, David Martin Ross, Sr., and brother, Franklin Tedder and sister, Doris Crump.
She is survived by her son, David Ross, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Fayetteville. One daughter, Iris Ross Hethcoat of Durham. Four brothers, John Tedder of Mount Gilead, Jake Tedder of Winston-Salem, Walter Tedder and Albert Tedder of Charlotte. Grandchildren, Tonya Ross, Rachel Ross and Alan Ross Hethcoat. Great-grandchildren, Hayden and Jessica Hasson and Taylor O'Brien.
