Daughter of Rev S.S. Saxon and Maranza Anna Adams, both of AL, she came to Texas with her parents and 9 siblings in about 1872.

Due to unknown circumstances, her parents died in 1873 in Fayette Co. and the children were placed with families in the area. Emma was place with the Edward Bastian family in Bastrop. Their home at 1006 Chestnut Street, Bastrop, Bastrop Co. is still standing.

On Jan 15, 1890, in Bastrop Co., Emma married Junius Fletcher "Punch" Nash, stage coach driver and City Marshall for Bastrop (for 21 yrs). Later he became Sheriff.
