Bruce Wilburn Abbott was born October 21, 1933, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Lewis Abbott and Maude (Dickerson) Abbott. He passed away January 24, 2011 at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 3 days. Bruce made his career in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict and retired after many years of honorable military service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His parents, one brother, Curtis Abbott and two sisters, Lily and Gretchen, preceded him in death. He leaves behind two sons, Stephen Abbott, of Muskogee and Bruce Abbott Jr, of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Troy Abbott, of Stilwell and Grady Abbott, of Haskell; one sister, Loretta Crittenden, of Bigsby; five grandchildren, Cody, Chase, Cale, Ashley and Megan; three great grandchildren, Caden, Brody and Avery and a special daughter, Rachel Morris. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Bro. Don Waldrop officiating. Final Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
