John P. McCambridge, a native of Kinsman, who resided in the Streator area for a number of years, died suddenly Saturday at his home in Santa Monica, California.
Services were held today at 8:30 a.m. from the Wilshire Funeral Home at Santa Monica, and at 9 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in that city. Visitation was Sunday afternoon and evening. The body is being returned by plane to Kankakee where burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. McCambridge was born at Kinsman, the son of Patrick and Bridge (Weir) McCambridge. He was married to Marie Mahaffey in Sacred Heart Church, Kinsman. She survives with two sons and one daughter. They are John V. of Santa Monica, Robert B. of San Diego and Mercedes Markle of New York City. There are three grandchildren.
His parents; a sister: Mable; and a brother: James, preceded him in death.
