BAILEY -- Edward F. Bailey of 65 West 30th Avenue, formerly of 1136 East 19th died June 13, 1974. He was born February 25, 1891 in Junction City and had been a life-long resident of this community. Survived by a sister, Mary Ellen Shrode of Eugene; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lee, December 1973; and a son, John. He was a prominent Attorney and civic leader for half a century. He graduated from the U of O in 1913, where he was an outstanding athlete; and was admitted to the Oregon Bar in 1915, retiring in January 1974. He was a former member of the Oregon Legislature; a member of the Lane County Charter Committee; a Eugene City councilman and school board member. By his request no funeral service will be held.
