LEXINGTON - Funeral service for Edwina Genell "Nell" Durrence Bagwell, 79, of Lexington, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Lake Murray Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Herb Gladden. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Lake Murray Baptist Church Building Fund, 1001 Hwy. 378 West, Lexington, SC 29072 or Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.

Mrs. Bagwell, widow of James Bradford Bagwell, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Born in Glennville, GA, she was a daughter of Dwight W. Durrence and Janie Kicklighter Durrence Milton. Originally from Savannah, GA, she was a longtime area resident and a member of Lake Murray Baptist Church. She was past Queen of the Daughter of the Nile of Jamil Shrine Temple and a chaplain with Women's Prison Ministry.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Bobby Stokes of Chapin; sons, James Bagwell of Lexington and Andy Dabbs of West Columbia; four grandchildren, Audrey Stokes, Alex Stokes, Brandon Bagwell and Thomas Bagwell; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Millen; sister, Telleah Nollan of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Juan Durrence of Glennville, GA, Ihly Milton of Shellman's Bluff, GA, and Ed Durrence of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Dean Milton, and a sister, O'Nari McNair.
