Agnes Ruth was born the 2nd daughter (and middle child) of Thomas Basterfield & Agnes Coupe ion Preston, England. Her father came over to the USA in the late 1890s and worked over in Lorain Ohio, earning money and finally sending fro his family in early 1903. Agnes, Her mother (Agnes), Sister (Mary Elizabeth), and brother (William) came over in mid 1903 and came to Lorain Ohio. Anges married Caption Burton Lewis Bates, a native Ohioan, in abt 1917.
Agnes and Burton resided the rest of their lives together in Lorain county, Ohio and are buried close to her parents and ghis family.
