Joseph Fielding MacKnight was the son of James Arthur MacKnight and Mary Ann Fielding. He married Katherine Lillie Heystek on June 6, 1900 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were the parents of Helen, Halbert G. "Hal", Mary Virginia, William T. and Kathryn MacKnight.
