Mathias J. Snyder, Retired Conductor, Dies in E. Syracuse
Mathias J. Snyder, 71, died Friday at his home, 105 East Heman Street, East Syracuse. A retired conductor, he had been employed by the New York Central Railroad for 52 years.
He had served as sewer commissioner and village trustee of East Syracuse, and was a member of Sherman Lodge, 143, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Bucher Snyder; a daughter, Mrs. George T. Hale; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lehman of Springfield, Mass., and Mrs. Fred Hilleges of East Syracuse, and a brother, Arthur Snyder of East Syracuse. The funeral will be conducted at the home at a time to be announced later.

Monday at the home, and at 9:30 in Saint Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minoa.
