A native of Altoona, Pa., he moved to Riverview from Lorain in 1983.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Brandon, Fla. He was employed as chief electrical engineer for American Ship Building in Tampa and Lorain.
He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen M.; daughter Jane Frame; sister LaRue McFarland; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Ammerman, and a sister, Louis Amigh.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon. The Rev. Rebecca Maul and the Rev. Susan Snedeker-Meier will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, with the Rev. James Smucker officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice.
