Frank Rowe, 76 of Huntington passed away at 4:37 a.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital.
He was a 1954 graduate of Chester High School in Wabash County. He worked at Keene Corporation for 24 years. He then worked at Maco Corporation (General Aluminum) for 8 years, retiring in 1993. He was a long-time member of the Good Shepherd United Brethren Church and currently attended The Well Church of Huntington. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan as well as a long-time fan and supporter of Huntington North High School basketball, holding season tickets for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed encouraging and coaching Pathfinder's Bowling Leagues on Friday afternoons. He enjoyed being involved with children and coached PAL baseball for many years.
He was born on August 30, 1933 in Brethett, Kentucky, a son of Tinsly and Margaret (Baily) Rowe. He was united in marriage to Marchetta Haynes on February 28, 1959 in North Manchester. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include three sons: Randy (Brenda) Rowe of Fort Wayne; Dennis (Shari) Rowe of Fort Wayne; Gary (Cindy) Rowe of Huntington; three sisters: Molly Clem of Fort Wayne; Goldie Avey of Pennville, IN; Myrtle England of North Manchester; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Kern Rowe, Jess Rowe, Dudley Rowe, James Rowe and four sisters: Mattie Spencer, Martha Rollins, Lola Ness and Nancy Rowe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Josh Kesler officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
