Born June 4, 1928 in Hinckley to Orlando and Fern Elizabeth Reeve Hepworth. Married Carmen Rose July 27, 1956 in Manti LDS Temple. She died October 8, 1994. Hinckley High School graduate. Attended USU. SUU graduate. Teacher at North Elementary; Principal at Escalante Valley Elementary. Active member LDS Church serving mission to Northern States Mission; Bishop of SUU married students' ward; Counselor in SUU Stake Presidency; Stake mission president; Ward clerk at time of death. Served as SUU President of Music Arts; active supporter of Shakespearean Festival, and Randall Jones Theater. 1995 recipient of Carmen Rose Hepworth Award. Enjoyed farming and operating heavy equipment. Melvin's life was one of dedication and service to others.
