Thomas Parker 'Tom' 'TP' Garner (1853 - 1839) was born in Benton County, Tennessee, and at age nine came with his father James and mother Elizabeth or a step-mother to the Rumley area of Lampasas County, Texas, in 1873. The Garners were farmers. Thomas married Rebecca Ann Bevil in 1895, and they farmed in Lampasas County's Rumley area. They had several children, including at least one, Kyle Little Garner, who is buried in the roadwide Garner Cemetery near Rumley with the inscription "Son of TP and RA Garner." Tom's wife Rebecca Bevil Garner, died one month after the birth of her last child, Ida, in 1893. Other children were Walter Garner, Victoria Garner, and Effie Garner. Tom married Victoria Leon Byrn in 1896, and they had children: Avvie Garner, Burnice Garner, Avrrie Garner, Burnice Garner, Feralene Garner, and Dorsey Garner. Tom and Victoria Leon Garner are buried at Rock Church Cemetery near Rumley.
