RICHARD WHITESELL was born at Oxford Township, Sussex County (part that is now Warren County), New Jersey, 15 August 1752 and died at Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, 28 March 1819, "age being 66 years, 7 months, 13 days" and was buried at the Shoeneck Moravian Church Cemetery north of the borough of Nazareth, Pennsylvania on the "30th of March.

He married at Oxford Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, 3 February 1774, ELIZABETH LEWIS, daughter of Benjamin and Elisabeth (Hopkins) Lewis. She was born at Rocksbury Township, Morris County, New Jersey, 28 October 1748 and died at Hope, New Jersey, 30 January 1795 and was buried "Feb. 1, 1795. She is indicated on a memorial marker at the Old Moravian Cemetery in Hope, New Jersey.

Richard married second at Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, a widow, ANNA (BOECKEL) RAUSCHENBERGER. She was the widow of Frederick Rauschenberger, son of Friederick and Barbara (Götsch) Rauschenberger, who was born at Pennsylvania, 14 September 1738 and died 5 November 1797. They were married at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, 8 June 1772. She had a least six children by her first husband.

Richard is named in his father's will and is bequeathed three Dollars.
