Nina Petrovna Khrushchev, the widow of Nikita S. Khrushchev, died in Moscow this month, Soviet official and family sources said yesterday. She was 84 years old. A Communist Party official said Mrs. Khrushchev had been buried in Novodevichy Cemetery beside her husband, who was the Soviet leader until he was deposed in 1964 and who died in obscurity seven years later. Mrs. Khruschchev died the night of Aug. 8, 1984 after a long illness. (Partial Obituary from New York Times.)

Khrushchev's first wife, Yefrosinya, died in 1921 of hunger and exhaustion during the famine following the Russian Civil War; she had borne Leonid and a daughter, Julia. His second wife was Nina Petrovna Kukharchuk (d. 1984), whom he married in 1924; besides Sergei, they had two daughters, Rada and Lena.Nina Petrovna Kukharchuk, a well-educated Party organizer and daughter of well-to-do Ukrainian peasants. The two lived together as husband and wife for the rest of Khrushchev's life, though they did not register their marriage until 1965.
