"Houston, Tex., Jan 7 - This afternoon Mr J M Ravenna, a painter and an old citizen of Houston, was crushed almost to death. He was working on the large three-story building at the corner of Rusk avenue and Main street and fell from the third story, striking on the railing of a fence below. His shoulder was almost driven in and the bones of the upper part of his arm were splintered and the pieces driven through the flesh and skin. He was so badly hurt internally and will likely die. Dr Olive was called upon and did all he could to alieviate his suffering. He was insensible when picked up. Mr Ravena has lived here many years and is highly respected by all who know him."
