John D. Anderson

John D. Anderson, 89, of Cook, died Monday, June 19, 2006,at his residence at the Homestead Apartment Building.

John was born on March 21, 1917, at Buhl, Minnesota; the son of Frank and Ann (Anderson) Anderson. He was raised in Buhl, and spent his teenage years in Cook, Buhl, Virginia, and Hibbing. He married W. Patricia Crowley in Duluth in 1941. He was an Army World War 11 Veteran, having rose to the rank of Major.

After the war he settled in California, where he raised his family. He was regional sales manager for Behr Manning Co. for twenty years. He moved to the Los Angeles area in the mid 1950's where he owned a bar, print ship and floor maintenance company. He moved to Sacramento in the eighties, where he started a tape and abrasive company called All Tape Supply. John finally retired in 1995. He loved his golf, the sun, and Minnesota. He was quite the salesman during his day. He returned to Cook in 2001 to be home – to him there was no place like Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; a daughter Gretchen M. Anderson, one brother, Frank E. Anderson,; and two sisters, Irene Anderson and Helene Anderson.

Inurnment was in the Camellia Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento, California.
