Funeral services were held Tuesday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield for June Gehrels Daniel, 82, of Freestone county, who died Feb. 5 in Palestine.

Interment followed at Dew Cemetery.

Mrs. Daniels was born June 11, 1928 in Winters to Walter William and Daisy Smith Gehrels.

She was a graduate of Teague high school and married Finis Daniel on June 20, 1949 in Dew and was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wilbur H. Bailey Post #5872 V.F.W. in Fairfield.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 16, 1997.

She is survived by children Darlene Smith and husband Wayne of Palestine and Dannie Daniel of Fairfield; sisters Neville Bosley of Houston and Shirley Free husband Wayne of Southlake; grandchildren Sarah Daniel and David Daniel of Austin; one great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Officiating services was Apostle Travis N. (Bo) Davis.

Pallbearers were Jerry Bosley, Tommie Bosley, Joe Chandler, Bucky Zehm, Robert Zehm, and John Daniel Chandler.

Making arrangements was Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
