She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin HERMAN, b. AL and Ursley Jane [Jennie] Springer McKEE, b.AL.
At some time they migrated into Indian Territory (OK) and they lived at Nelson, Choctaw County, OK.

She married Martin Monroe (M.M.) McKEE, 21 April 1912, who became a Free Will Baptist minister in southeastern OK.

At least one child, a daughter, Lillie Irma was born.

Gertrude died when she was 28 years of age.
