From a newspaper:

Martha Jane Moore, daughter of Allen and Daisy Moore, was born October 23, 1898, died March 24, 1908, aged 9 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Little Martha deserves more praise than we are able to give her in this world, for she was a child with a bright and pleasant disposition, and seemed always willing and ready to do. Yet the great affliction which had been bestowed to her and has kept her from being what she might have been had she been free of this one and great important trouble. She, as some already know, was deprived entirely of the use of the organ of speech, and walking a certain extent was affected. All has been done, to relieve of this affliction, that could be done, as she spent the last year of her life in the institution at Columbus, Ohio, for that purpose, but the Master reigns where earthly aid cannot, so Tuesday morning in the presence of father and mother, brother and sisters and a few friends at the institution, the Master, who doeth all things well, called her from this sinful world in her innocence and purity to a world where there will be no more suffering, hence we are taught to believe that our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves to mourn her loss a father, mother, one brother and two sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral was conducted at the home, Pleasant Valley, Thursday, March 26, at 11 A.M. by Rev. Paul E. Kemper. Interment at West Carlisle Cemetery.
