--World War I Veteran: Sgt., U.S. Army. Served in the 11th Machine Gun Battalion. He was still in the army in 1920, stationed at Camp Dix (now Fort Dix), New Jersey.

--Occupation: Front End Mechanic at Frank Woods Inc.

--He married Willie Kate Lawrence in 1919. They had 4 daughters. They lived in NC during the 1920s but were in Nassau Co., NY in 1930. They later returned to NC.
