Anne Marousek Boyd, of Plano, Texas, more recently, Kingwood, Texas, passed away on November 15, 2010 at the age of seventy-five after a 5 year battle with Cancer. Anne was born on November 1, 1935, in Secretary, Maryland, the only child of Albert and Mildred Marousek. Anne graduated from Vienna High School and from Salisbury State Teachers College. She married Bill Boyd of Dumas, Texas. Anne is survived by her daughter Nancy Boyd Chapman and her pride and joy, grandson, Chase Paul Chapman.

Anne spent 39 years of her life teaching school. She was a teacher in Maryland, California and Texas. The majority of her career was spent teaching first grade at Dover Elementary in Richardson, Texas. Being a teacher was not only a career for Anne, it was her true calling and passion. She was not only devoted to teaching the students, but truly nurturing and loving her students as well. She obtained great joy by teaching children how to read. Students were always returning to Dover as adults to thank her for being such a wonderful teacher and influencing their lives in a positive way.

Anne was a devoted daughter to her mother, Mildred Marousek. Although teaching was truly her greatest passion, she retired early in 1998 to move back home to Rhodesdale, Maryland to care for her mother until her mother's death in 2003. After selling her parent's dairy farm, Treeside Farms in 2004, she returned to Texas in order to be close to her only child, daughter, Nancy. Anne returned to Texas with heartfelt hopes of becoming a grandmother. Finally, in 2007, her most treasured dream became reality and her grandson Chase arrived. Anne was thrilled to be able to see her grandson Chase almost every single day. She treasured every moment with Chase and he adored his "Gammie" as well.

Anne was passionate about being outside in nature. She was an incredibly talented gardener. She was offered professional employment in landscape design, but declined, as she wanted to be able to focus her time and energy toward her grandson. Some of Anne's favorite things were her Ford F150 truck, Red Lobster, big Oak trees, Pecan Sandy cookies, peanut butter, hot tea in the morning, Desperate Housewives, American Idol, browsing at garden centers, her best friend Sharon Hurley and of course, most of all, her family. She will be deeply missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Rosary Service at Zellers Funeral Home in East New Market, Maryland on Friday evening, December 10th from 7 to 9 p.m. She will have a graveside ceremony at Our Lady of Good Counsel church cemetery in Secretary, Maryland, on Saturday, December 11th at 11 a.m. with Father Lonek officiating.
