Metter - Mrs. Mary Frances Pierson Akins, 88, died Friday at Candler County Hospital. Born in Emanuel County, she lived most of her life in Metter. She was employed at Metter Manufacturing Company for 20 years and was a member of the Cool Springs Baptist Church. Most of all she was a wonderful Mother and Mother-In-Law and the widow of Leo Akins. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Leo and Justine Akins of Macon and Charles Franklin Akins of Metter; three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Frank Odom of N. Augusta, S.C., Marguerite and Elton Dickerson of Byron and Shirley and David Leach of Elmira, N.Y.; sister, Grace Dowd of Metter; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with burial in the Olliff Cemetery. Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes Hooks Chapel
