Hiram B. Mount who was a private in the Company commanded by Capt. Hunter in the Mormon Battalion commanded by Capt. & Lt. Geo. Cooke, that he was mustered into service at Council Bluffs by Lt. Col. J.Allen on the 16th day of July 1846 for the term of one year and was discharged at Pueblo de Los Angeles in California on the 16th day of July 1847 by reason of expiration of service as discharge. The Battalion to which I belonged was mustered out of service. That he reinlisted as Corporal in the Company commanded by Capt. Davis at Pueblo on the 20th day of July and was discharged at Santiego on the 13th day of March 1848.
