Rev. Harry Stockton Myerly, 90, formerly of 512 Fairview Avenue, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick, where he and his wife, Minnie Louise Bodmer Myerly, had resided for the past several years.

Born Dec. 8, 1897, near Charles Town, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jesse Gilbert and Elizabeth P. Anderson Myerly.

Rev. Myerly graduated from the Poolesville High School, the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, HI., and Vanderbilt University of Nashville, Tenn. He served as a minister of the gospel of the Methodist church and was a member of the Baltimore Conference Methodist Episcopal Church, South, from 1925 until 1936. In 1936, Rev. Myerly transferred to the West Virginia Conference and continued in the ministry until his retirement in 1963. He served as assistant pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church from 1964 until 1971.

Rev. Myerly was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, served as treasurer of the Asbury Educational Fund of the Baltimore Conference, member of the Board of Missions, District Missionary Secretary, Superintendent of the Childrens Home and member of the Conference Board of Christian Social Concerns of the West Virginia Conference. He had been a member of the Lions Club International and held membership in various clubs.

Prior to his death he was a member of the Francis Scott Key Lions Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one sister, Mrs. Margarita M. Holman of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Campbell of Frederick, Mrs. Zada Bodmer, Mrs. Helen Bodmer, both of Poolesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, until time of services at 2 p.m., at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Robert E. Manthey, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
