Kiel, Wis—Mrs. Louisa Kuhn, 89, passed away Friday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Umsonst in town Meeme. She had been ill since 1924, blind since 1928 and confined to her bed for the past five years. Mrs. Kuhn was born November 18, 1853, in town Herman, the daughter of Nicholas and Marie Boos. On November 3, 1871, she was married to John Kuhn of town Rhine and they resided on the present homestead. Her husband passed away in January, 1892.
Survivors are five children, Mrs. Louisa Ibeling and Mrs. William Umsonst of town Meeme, Mrs. Cornelius Brass of town Herman, Louis of town Herman and John J. of Ada; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. A son, William, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kuhn was the first child baptized in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church at Schwartzwald when it was re-organized, and she was one of the oldest member of the church.
