Louis Kuhn Sheboygan Press February 19, 1953

Louis Kuhn, 79, a retired Town of Herman farmer, died Wednesday night at Maplewood Nursing home, Sheboygan Falls, after a lingering illness. Born June 22, 1873, in the town of Meeme, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kuhn, he attended rural schools. He was married to Bertha Hahn at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schwartzwald on May 31, 1900. The couple operated the homestead farm in Manitowoc County for several years before moving to Sheboygan. In 1909 they moved to a farm in the Town of Herman which they operated until their retirement in 1938. Mr. Kuhn made his home with a son, Reinhold, on the homestead farm in the Town of Herman until the death of his wife in August, 1950. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schwartzwald.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Arvin (Anita Gosse, Town of Mosel, and Mrs. R. E. Elsie) Zimmermann, Plymouth; two sons, Reinhold on the homestead, and Nelson, of Millersville; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, John, of Ada, and two sisters, Mrs. Cornelius Brass, of Town Herman, and Mrs. William Umsonst, Town Meeme. In addition to his wife, one brother and a sister also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schwartzwald, with the Rev. William Schultz, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in the church cemetery.
