Funeral services for George H. Koene, 77, Riverbend Court, Route 2, Sheboygan Falls resident who died Tuesday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Sheboygan.
The Rev. Ruben Grosshuesch, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John UCC Cemetery in the Town of Herman.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel after 4 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
Born May 4, 1903, in Sheboygan Falls, he was the son of Peter and Dorothea Haen Koene.
He attended school in the Town of Lima.
He was married to the former Norma Laux on Oct. 8, 1932, at St. John UCC in the Town of Herman. The couple farmed in the Town of Schleswig for 40 years until their retirement in 1972, when they moved to Sheboygan Falls.
Mr. Koene was employed at A.L. Wagner Co. at Haven and also did custom harvesting.
He was a member of Ebenezer UCC, the American Association of Retired Persons, and was a past member of the Farm Bureau. Mr. Koene also belonged to Turners Square Dance Club, Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club of Millersville and the Kiel and Sheboygan Square Dance clubs.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Wayne of Fond du Lac; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Payleitner of Racine; two grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Koene's name for Ebenezer UCC.
