Valeria W.D. Hahn, of 1110 Longfellow, Howards Grove, died at Memorial Medical Center on Friday, May 20, 1994 after an extended illness.
She was born July 28, 1908 in the Town of Herman, a daughter of the late Valentin and Augusta Kruse Hahn. Valeria graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1926 and attended the Sheboygan County Normal School.
Ms. Hahn taught for 23 years in the era of the one room schools, taking special interest and care in the progress of the children she taught. She had taught at the Holden and Acorn School in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Riverview School in Town Wilson, Valley School in Town of Plymouth, and several others in Sheboygan County. She was a life member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Funeral services for Valeria Hahn will be held on Monday, May 23, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Schwarzwald. The Rev. Lloyd Fried will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 4 p.m. until time of services.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Catharine (Melvin) Berg, of West Bend; one brother, Dr. Warren (Olive) Hahn, of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Helen L. Hahn, of Newton, and Helen Hahn, of Rockville. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial fund has been established to St. Johns United Church of Christ in the name of Valeria W.D. Hahn.
The Zimmer Funeral Home of Howards Grove is funeral service coordinator.
