MALINDA B. BRASS

Malinda B. Brass, 91, of Route 1, Elkhart Lake, Town Herman, died Monday, January 23, 1989 at Sunny Ridge Healthcare Center.
She was born November 6, 1897 in the Town of Rhine, a daughter of the late Julius and Louise Leonhart Horneck. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters United Church of Christ, Town Rhine. She attended the district school at Rhine Center.
On February 12, 1919 Malinda Hornbeck and Hubert W. Brass were united in marriage. The couple lived and farmed on the Brass Homestead. Retiring in 1952, they made their home in the upper apartment in the farmhouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband March 13, 1962, also by one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, and three brothers. Malinda was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald and its Ladies Guild.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene (Lucille) Brass, of Howards Grove; Elroy (Janet) Brass, of Route 1, Elkhart Lake; Archie (Dorothy) Brass, of Rt. 2, Sheboygan; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Norma Hahn, of the Sheboygan Retirement Home and Mrs. Palmer (Leona) Sixel, of Town Mosel.
Funeral services for Malinda Brass will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald. The Rev. Lloyd Fried, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the ZIMMER FUNERAL HOME in Howards Grove on Wednesday, from 4 until 9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday, from noon until time of services.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Malinda Brass's name for St. John's United Church of Christ.
