Jacob Bertschy, aged 73, died Sunday at his home in the village of Howards Grove following an illness since a week ago Saturday. The funeral will be held at St. Johannes Church, Schwartzwald, the Rev. Fr. Mohme conducting the services.
Deceased was born January 16, 1856, in the town of Meeme, In 1884 he married Miss Mary Maurer, and the couple with their children lived on a farm in that township until nine years back, when they retired from farming and moved to Howards Grove.
The survivors are the widow; three son, Alvin and Arthur town of Meeme and Edwin at home; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Rhein of Plymouth and Mrs. Herman Hensche of Racine, and one brother, John C. of Sheboygan. Eight grandchildren also survive.
