Ray H. Cunningham, 88, of Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at his residence.

He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Curtis and Sophia Jane Greathouse Cunningham.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, was a member of Farm Bureau, attended Burning Springs U.M. Church, and retired from Hope Gas Co. with 29 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Hallie Mollohan Cunningham; one son, Joseph Cunningham of Elizabeth; two daughters, Sonja Artibise of New Orleans, La., and Shelia Goldizen of Liberty; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Cunningham of Little Hocking, Ohio; and one sister, Dollie Shrader of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Cunningham; brothers and sisters, Roy, Russell, Pearl, Shirley, Maggie and Effie; and one grandchild.

Services were held at Busch-Kimes Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Pastor Kenneth Welch and Paul Williams officiating. Burial was in Beaty Cemetery.
