She was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Laredo, W.Va., daughter of the late Thomas Harrison and Emily Jane Toler Bailey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Tyree.
She was a retired secretary from Wyoming County School System and was a member of Oceana High School Alumni Association and GFWC Oceana Women's Club. Joyce was an elder, member of the session, choir director and organist for Kopperston Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Wallace of Oceana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Thomas and Cheryl Tyree of Huntington, W.Va., and Terry and Penny Tyree of Kopperston, W.Va.; four granddaughters, Traci (Leon) Agnew of Suwanee, Ga., Tanya (Kyle) Sargent of Louisville, Ky., and Jessica and Lindsey Tyree of Kopperston; and three great-grandchildren, Donivan and Jayln Agnew and Kyleigh Sargent.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kopperston Presbyterian Church.
