He was born July 7, 1931 in Ratcliffburg to Talmadge G. and Edna I. Burt Smallridge. On June 12, 1955, he married Bessie M. Kuhn, who survives.
Of that union were born four children, including two sons; Thomas L. Jr., Olathe, Ks. and John T. at home, a daughter and son-in-law; Sharon K. and Richard A. Branham of Vinton County, and Peggy Sue Smallridge who died Nov. 2, 1967.
Besides his wife, Bessie and children, Mr. Smallridge is survived by, six grandchildren; Ryan, Jacke and Jesse Basgall of LaCrosse, Ks., Blake A. Smallridge and Billie Sue Smallridge, Chillicothe and Brian K. Smallridge of Vinton County. Two brothers; Harold B. (Ruth) Smallridge and Robert L. (Mary) Smallridge all of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter; Peggy Sue and two sisters; Ruth I. (Smallridge) Johnson and Jean L. Smallridge. Thomas was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
