Richard C. Brown, 77, of Portage went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday at home.

He was born in Licking Creek, Fulton County, son of the late Franklin I. and Margaret (Jackson) Brown. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen (Clapper) Brown, second wife, Mazie (Weyandt) Brown and these siblings: brothers Joseph and Blair and sister Ann.

He is survived by loving wife, Janet L. (Walter) Brown and these children: Mark Brown and wife, Michelle, of Altoona; Pamela and husband, Rodney Harr, of King; Randy Brown of Martinsburg; John Brown and wife, Dalene, of Tyrone; Michael Brown of Johnstown and Richard Brown of Portage; siblings: Mae Scott of Claysburg, Jim Brown of Harrisburg, William Brown of Everett and Glenn Brown of York; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Richard was a pastor and spent a majority of his lifetime in the ministry, faithfully serving the Lord.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War who served in the Army Medical Corp.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he especially loved spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Portage. Viewing will also be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Bible Church, Munster Road, Portage, before the service, which will be held at 2 p.m., Pastor Charles Miller officiating. Committal will be at Prospect Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be handled by the Portage Veterans.
