                     Mrs. America Collins

Final rites for Mrs. America Ellen Collins, 71, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Workmans Creek Church at Clear Creek with the Rev. Ernest Barley, Bradley, in charge.

Mrs. Collins died Sunday at 8:45 p.m. at the home of her son, Donnie, in Forest Hill. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemmorhage.

A former resident of Clear Creek, she was a member of the Church of God there.

She was born in Kanawha County, April 30, 1890, the daughter of Russell and Carolina Burgess.

Her husband, Charles Adam, died in 1959.

She is survived by three sons, Donnie of Forest Hill, Frankie of Shepherdsville, Texas, and James Collins of Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Peachie Stover, Mrs. Minnie Bailey, and Mrs. Beulah Fisher, all of Clear Creek, and Mrs. Dora Lilly of Beckley; two brothers, Quincy of Artie and Chris Burgess of Clear Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Wriston and Mrs. June Bailey, both of Artie; 29 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The body will be taken from the Tyree Funeral Home to the home of Mrs Fisher at Clear Creek at 5 p.m. today and to the church one hour prior to services. (RNS)
