Cynthia Keck Youngblood, 53, of Newcastle, Wash., passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.

Cynthia Diane Keck, the second of five daughters born to Raymond and Shirley Keck of Berlin, Wis., entered into this world on April 14, 1957, born in Columbus, Wis.

She grew up on her parents' dairy farm in Berlin.

Cindy graduated from Berlin High School and went on to earn degrees in fine arts and teaching at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She left for the state of Alaska in 1986, where she accepted a job on a fishing boat. It was there that she met her husband, Jon Youngblood.

Cynthia and Jon were married and raised two children together. She worked as a homeschool teacher. Her passions were poetry, drawing and freelance writing, drawing inspiration from her Christian faith.

Cynthia will be remembered as being a source of comfort to those in pain, a mentor to creative minds, and a compassionate listener to those who faltered. She was the first to forgive and the last to receive. "Sacrificial love for the sake of others" defined her life; she was truly a good and faithful servant.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Jon, of Newcastle, Wash.; her son, Brandon; her daughter, Brenna; her stepdaughter, Shay; her grandson, Charlie, who was her pride and joy; her father, Raymond (Barbara Sullivan Keck) Keck of Ripon; her sisters, Susan (Tom) Howe of Madison, Sara (Tim) Hoff of Menasha, Linda (Edward) Heimstreet of Lake Mills and Rebecca (Ken) Doro of Berlin; her brother, Matthew (Sara) Keck of Jackson; her friend and former stepmother, Carol Kaufman; her stepsisters, Teresa (Randy) Rucks and Michelle (Jeff) Gregor; her stepbrother, Michael (Tammy) Gunka and their families; and Barbara's six sons and their families. She is further survived by 12 nieces and nephews and their families; her special cousins, Dennis (Diane) Keck and Mari (Rune) Bjornerem, and their families, all of the Seattle, Wash., area; and aunts, uncles, cousins and their families in Wisconsin and Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Moody Keck; her grandparents, Albert and Merna Keck and Ralph and Vivian Belsly; her uncles, Alan Keck and Robert Moody; and her cousin, Debra Esperda.

A service was held in December at Cynthia's church in the Seattle area, to celebrate her earthly life and her passage into Eternal Life. Over 450 people attended her memorial service.
