Evelyn died peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by family, on Jan. 19, 2011 in Nampa, ID. She was born April 25, 1920, in Butte, Montana.

Evelyn lived a full and enjoyable life. She graduated from Butte High School, Class of 1938. She went on to attend the St. James School of Nursing in Butte. She graduated in June, 1941 as a Graduate RN (3 year program). Post graduate courses included Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing Education and Cardio-Vascular Nursing from Montana State College; and Nursing Home Care from the Joint Council to Improve Health Care of the Aging. She took great pride in her nursing career and never forgot the true meaning of caring.

Evelyn married her sweetheart, Bob Morey, on Nov. 16, 1942. Together they raised three children, Jeanine, David and MaryAnne.

After retiring from nursing, Evelyn spent many years as a foster grandparent, also volunteering with the 7th Day Adventist Community Services group and Hands Across the Valley. She was presented with the Dr. Jim Oyler Award for Special Achievement and Outstanding Service to Touchstone Clubhouse, Dec. 1990. Evelyn was a true inspiration to all who knew her.

Evelyn loved the outdoors, particularly the great West and her flower garden. She loved poetry, writing, sewing and crafting. She loved cooking throughout her life for family and friends. Evelyn loved and valued her family above all else.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary Bills; brother, Raymond; husband, Robert Eldon Morey; son, Robert David Morey; and granddaughter, Debra Pence.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Jeanine Morey, of Nampa, and Mary Anne (Ralph) St. John, of Redondo Beach, CA; a daughter-in-law, Margie Fitch; her grandchildren: Larry (Lisa) Hale, Theresa (David) Richardson, Robert (Rebecca) Lopez, Bernadette Brockman, Lawrence (Michelle) Lopez, Ryan (Robyn) St. John, Melissa (Doug) Antocicco, James (Kathy), Jeff and Brian (Kelly) Pence; great-grandchildren: Kenneth, William, Alex, Lawrence Jr., Brandon (aka Mr. B), Anthony, Hunter, Hannah, Olivia, Thomas, Danielle, Daemon, Nicholas, Nathanial, Michael, Brian Jr., Madison, Jonathan, Adam (Jerica), Eric and Matthew; and great-great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Valerie, Quentin and Bella.

The family wishes to thank the Guardian Home Health & Hospice team for Evelyn's care over the past 3 1/2 years; and the Beehive Assisted Living team for Evelyn's care since March 2010. The Guardian and Beehive staff provided outstanding and compassionate care for Evelyn. They also provided tremendous support to the family during her final days.

The family will greet family and friends at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel for viewing and visitation on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
