Although I have seen William Phipp's date-of-death
placed at 1860, I do not know where this information
comes from as the family story goes that one day
Great-Grandpappy Willie was seen walking over a hill
never to return. I believe it comes from the 1860 Census
which does not list him with Sarah and his children.
A rumor has it that William headed to Texas, and spent
the rest of his life there. His wife, Sarah, was probably
a'might upset at the time. Then again... maybe she
wasn't.
