James "Jimmy" Doan, 58, was a lifetime Olney resident before moving to Wichita Falls two weeks before his death. A musician, he played for several Gospel groups and with the Gatlin Brothers. He wrote and recorded several songs. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.

Survived by one son - Dan Doan of Wichita Falls; one brother - Curtis Doan of Waco; five sisters - Bessie Sartin, Nell Rasco, Dorothy Darr, Billie Gatlin and Mary Lester; two grandchildren.
