John Robert Carter died at the age of 54 in Hermitage Mo. He was born Dec. 16 1870 Hickory Co, Mo. He was the son of Sumner W. Carter and Malissa J. Moreland. He married Jan 9 1893 Loretta Susannah Knight. and to this union 7 children were: born Orvel Winfield Carter, Bessie joy Carter Landreth, Ada Frances Carter Baker, Jessie Robert Carter,Beulah Mae Carter Aulgur, Floyd Ray Carter, and Mart Leonard Carter. He married a second time to lizzy Crawford no children. He leaves behind his second wife and 5 of his 7 children: Bessie, Ada,Beulah, Floyd, and Mart Leonard. he was preceeded in death by his first wife and 2 of his children: Orvel and Jessie Carter.
