Isaac Townsend Skipper, 84, retired farmer of the Willow Springs section of Horry County, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Monday in the Cools Springs Methodist Church, the Rev. L. P. Joyner, pastor of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Conway, and the Rev. A.W. Sanders Jr., pastor of Cool Springs Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Skipper, Leonard Skipper, Harold Skipper, Donald Skipper, Joe Skipper Jr., and Gene Skipper.

Mr. Skipper was born in the Cool Springs section of Horry County June 12, 1876, a son of the late Arthur Crawford and Kate Campbell Skipper. He had lived and farmed in the Willow Springs section for the last 28 years.

He was twice married. Surviving his marriage to the late Mrs. Martha Ann Spears Skipper, who died in 1938, are four sons, Joe P. Skipper, Raleigh NC, E. P. Skipper, Cool Springs, Lloyd Skipper and James E. Skipper and James E. Skipper both of Rt. 2 Conway; a daughter, Mrs. Don C. Jordan, Rt. 3 Conway.

Surviving the second marriage are the widow, Mrs. Effie Cannon Hardwick Skipper; a son Isaac T. Skipper Jr., and a daughter, Mrs. Jennings Chestnut, both of Rt. 2 Conway. Also surviving are two step sons, John Albert Hardwick, Norfolk VA, and Amos Lloyd Hardwick, High Point NC; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and two step grandchildren.
