William Luther Barnes, 76, 809 Bradley St, died today at 3 a.m. at his residence.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Austinville Methodist Church with Rev. Mitchell Owens officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Guntharp directing.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Vinnie Barnes, Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Roberts, Tallahassee, Fla, and Mrs. Margaret B. Watkins, Decatur; a brother, Marvin Barnes, Falkville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the funeral home until time to be taken to the church where it will lie in state one hour prior to services.
Mr. Barnes was a lifelong member of Austinville Methodist Church and lived in the Austinville community for 60 years.
He was a native of Lawrence County.
