He was born September 10, 1929 in Webster County Kentucky to the late Fred and Queen Isabel (Carlisle) Preston.
He was a member of Onton United Methodist Church, retired after 30 years from Signal Delivery in Evansville, IN, member of Bailey-Onton Masonic Lodge, West Kentucky Consistory, and Riz Pah Temple both in Madisonville, Webster County Shriners, and active in Onton Hay Days. His passions included gardening, camping, and making woodworking crafts for friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Thurman Preston, and 2 sisters Earline Melton and Jennie Bob Sterneman.
