By my Grandmothers own oral statement to me she was born 11 Feb. 1912 at Rigby, Fremont, Idaho.

I found a certified copy of my Grandmother Mary June's Idaho birth certificate (File No. 3665) that lists her born 11 Feb 1912 in "Rudy", Fremont, Idaho. It was signed by Ray H. Fisher, MD of Rigby, Idaho.

I also found a "Certificate of Baptism and Confirmation" for her dated May 31st, 1925 that says she was born Feb 11, 1912 at Rigby, Ida. It gives her baptism date as May 31, 1925, by Solomon C. Shupe, Elder. It gives the date of May 31, 1925 as her confirmation date as a member of the LDS Church. by Elder John F. Dixon. This was signed by Walter A. Porter, Bishop. This was recorded in the Gooding Ward Record of members Book #1 Line 161 by Clerk A.C. Anderson.


Gooding, Idaho Public School records list her there 1925, 6th grade, second semester as an honor student. This was on a card that I found from "Gooding Public Schools". It was signed by Harriet Brown, Teacher and what looks like "P.S. Doane" Superintendent.

I further found an enrollment card for Gooding High School dated Sept. 4, 1928 for "June Pettingill" age 16. Parents listed as E.L. Pettingill, Residence as "Shoestring", Occupation "Farmer", Pupils residence "same", School last attended "G.H.S.", Grade "10", credits "8".

Obituary: Mary June Howard, 87, Boise, died Tuesday in Meridian.


On Tuesday May 11, 1999 at about 10 pm mst Mary (Pettingill) Howard passed away at the home of her grandaughter Melanie (Thornock) Mitchell in Meridian, ID. She died of complications of lung cancer and heart failure.
