Funeral services for Marcus Bankston, 81, of 254 Ct. Phillip St., were held yesterday afternoon at the Sandy Creek cemetery.
Bankston died Tuesday afternoon at the Baton Rouge General Hospital following a short illness.
Bankston, who lived in Baton Rouge almost all his life, was 40 years a railroad employe. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He is survived by two sons, Barney Bankston, U.S. Army, somewhere in Germany, Boliver Bankston, New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Salt ( can't read ) of Tampa, Fla., and two other daughters who reside in Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
