HAUGHTON, LA - Services for Charles "Sonny" Spataro, Jr., age 65, will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gevan Spinney officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Hill Crest Memorial Park under the direction of Hill Crest.
The family will be receiving guest from the hours of 5-7 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2009 at Hill Crest.
Mr. Spataro was born December 15, 1943 in Warren, Arkansas, and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 16, 2009 in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of First Baptist Haughton where he enjoyed fellowship. Mr. Spataro attended Northwestern University with a football scholarship before entering into the Army to serve during Vietnam War stationed at Okinawa, Japan. Sonny enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandson, and he looked forward to his Friday Eat'n Meet'n with his trucking buddies.
He is preceded in death by his father; Charles Vince Spataro, Sr., and father-in-law; Harold Kendall.
Left to cherish his memories and tell his story will be his wife; Shaila Kendall Spataro, his mother; Margaret Spataro, three sons: Sean Lane and wife Mary, Charles "Trey" Spataro III, and Kendall Ryan Spataro, one sister; Phyllis Marsiglia and husband Phil, one grandson; Jackson Spataro, three nieces: Summer, Morgan, and Jennifer, and one nephew; Marc along with a host of friends.
Active Pallbearers will be Sean Lane, Trey Spataro, Kendall Spataro, Brad Taylor, Ralph Taylor, and Hunter Caskey. Honoraries will be Don Livingston, Charley Ford, Gene Watts, Maynard Butler, Henry Payne, James Caskey, and all the "Eat'n Meet'n" gang.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers please make donations to the First Baptist Haughton Building Fund or your favorite charity.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Angelo, Dr. Cole, Dr. McCoy, Willis Knighton Bossier and all the staff.
