The community bowed its head in sorrow Wednesday morning when it was learned that John B. Hayhurst had passed away. While it was known that his death was only a matter of days, the news that the aged gentleman had passed to the beyond brought sorrow to everyone.
To write a complete biography of Mr. Hayhurst would be to write a history of Kankakee county for he was born in Yellowhead township January 8, 1837.
